Vantage Early Intervention empowers your family to gain confidence in your child's development and provides evidence based strategies to achieve success with meeting milestones.


We provide in-depth personalized services while building quality relationships with clients and their families. Services are throughout the greater area of Charleston, SC. The counties include Berkeley, Dorchester, and Charleston.


We work directly with families to develop an early intervention program that is based on your child’s unique, everyday routines and needs. We provide services in your child’s natural environment, such as your home or daycare. Our goal is to teach families how to incorporate learning opportunities into their day-to-day activities and assist in finding support and connections within their community to help their child be successful.

Meet the Team

Guy Vinette  As an American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech therapist, Guy Vinette, M.A. CCC-SLP opened Vantage Speech & Language with the vision of providing the best evidence-based practice to maximize growth and development.  Mr. Vinette graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology. He has years of experience working with children and adults in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and school settings, providing services with needs ranging from mild to severe language and communication impairments. Through a caring and innovative speech therapy approach, it is his goal to maximize each individual’s potential. This is accomplished by focusing on individual needs while including family and loved ones in the therapeutic process through training and education.

Guy's areas of expertise include non-verbal and verbal communicators in the areas of augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) and developmental and acquired language disorders. He is trained to perform PROMPT therapy. He demonstrates years of experience working with fluency, articulation and social pragmatic skills. Guy is constantly evolving his approach to ensure that treatment options are in the best interest for all clients. Guy currently lives in Summerville with his wife, son, daughter, and golden retriever. He moved from Niagara Falls, NY in 2015 and continues to love playing hockey, golf, and hiking in his spare time.

Rachelle Vinette

Rachelle Vinette is a certified teacher in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Literacy Specialist, with a Master’s in Education from the University at Buffalo. After moving from Niagara Falls, NY, she taught for eight years in the Berkeley County school district before resigning in 2023 to raise her two children and support the Vantage Speech & Occupational Therapy business. Recognizing a growing need for Early Intervention services in the area, Rachelle and her husband, Guy, decided to open Vantage Early Intervention. This venture allows Rachelle to pursue her passion for working with children and their families while providing essential services to their community.

Kelly banerian  Kelly Banerian is a College of Charleston graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Kelly’s passion for working with children began at an early age. She has been taking care of children for most of her life. Kelly worked at her church after school program for four years while attending college. Following her college graduation, Kelly was hired as a second-grade teacher in the Berkeley County School District. She has twelve years of experience teaching in early childhood education classrooms. She then began working in early intervention and has served the Charleston area as both an interventionist and an area supervisor. She loves helping children grow and reach their full potential.

Cyla Byrd

Cyla Byrd graduated from Kilo Company at the Citadel with a degree in Psychology. After her graduation, Cyla began pursuing her Master's Program at Liberty University for a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Cyla has a passion for working with children which began at a young age. She has been researching and caring for children most of her life. Cyla worked as a nanny, daycare worker and childrens church leader. She has one year of providing Early Intervention services and four years as a day-care worker. Cyla loves helping children grow and achieve every goal set for them.

Cari Weishuhn

Cari Weishuhn is a certified educator with over 11 years of experience teaching young learners in PreK through 2nd grade. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston and has devoted her career to nurturing the academic, social, and developmental growth of children during their most formative years. Cari brings expertise in designing and implementing individualized, hands-on instruction that meets each child at their level. She is passionate about early intervention, small-group instruction, and creating supportive learning environments where children feel safe, encouraged, and capable of success. Outside of the classroom, Cari is a devoted wife to her husband, Eric, and together, they have two children. Being both an educator and a parent gives her a unique perspective on the early years of learning, as she understands firsthand the importance of building strong partnerships between families and educators. She values open communication, collaboration, and trust, knowing that a child thrives most when both home and school work together. Cari’s experiences as a mother deepen her compassion, patience, and commitment to supporting every child’s growth and well-being.

Lyvonnia Hyche

Lyvonnia is an Early Interventionist with over 30 years of experience working with young children and families. For the past 12 years, Lyvonnia has worked in early intervention including six years as a supervisor of a supporting early intervention team and ensuring families receive high-quality, compassionate services. Before that, she ran her own nationally accredited family childcare program for 18 years through the USAF where she provided care for many military and civilian families. Lyvonnia holds her certification as an Autism Coach and is currently pursuing her Play Therapy Certification. Driven by a strong sense of faith and purpose, Lyvonnia believes her work is more than a profession—it is a calling. She is passionate about serving children and families with respect, integrity, and intention, striving to make a meaningful and lasting impact in every life she touches. Known for her strong leadership and effective communication skills, she creates nurturing, collaborative environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Lyvonnia graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ashford University with her bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Lyvonnia is passionate about helping children grow, supporting families, and creating environments where everyone feels seen and supported. In Lyvonnia’s spare time she enjoys crafting, making personalized gifts, and trying new restaurants while spending time with her husband. Lyvonnia has been married for 27 years and a proud mom of three daughters.

Lisa Howard

Lisa graduated from Wilmington University in Delaware with a degree in Elementary Education and have had a lifelong passion for working with children. I began my career at an inclusive childcare center serving both typically developing children and those with medical complexities. I worked as an Early Childhood Specialist in Delaware for three years before relocating to the Charleston area, where I have spent the past nine years as an Early Interventionist and Early Intervention Supervisor. In addition to my professional experience, I am also a parent of two children who received early intervention services, which has further strengthened my passion for supporting children and their families.

Maggie burdick

Maggie Burdick graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Maggie has over five years of experience in customer service, where she developed strong communication and interpersonal skills. Maggie has a passion for working with children and has volunteered at schools and programs supporting children with special needs.Through these experiences, Maggie gained a deeper understanding of the importance of patience, encouragement, and individualized support for every child. Maggie is dedicated to creating positive relationships with children and families while helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential through early intervention services.
